So You've Been There...Done That...Now Ready To Start Over...

The best thing about a clean slate is the fact that there’s no limit as to how many times you can wipe it clean.  If you wake up one morning and realize that you no longer want to deal with the current circumstances of your life, then it’s time to think of a master plan.  There are so many fearful aspects that come along with a decision of this magnitude, but think of it this way, if the end result is for the betterment of your lifestyle and happiness than reassure yourself that you are on the right path.  Starting over is bitter sweet; bitter (in some cases) because of the life, the attachments and memories you’re attempting to leave behind, but sweet because of the motivation and inspiration that exhilarates you towards a chance at a fresh start.  No situation, in life, is too small to have an affect on you, or too big for you to come out of….it all starts with a choice.  There will be spectators in your life that will impose what they feel will be the best way for you to handle certain situations, but when it’s all said and done you are the architect of this project; therefore, sketch the design as you see fit.  If you have nothing else to cling on to for hope, just look in the mirror and search for the power to believe in your self.  Ladies, you are stronger than you think.  I firmly believe in the power of determination, because when you really think about it, the hardest choice was making the decision to start over…and you've already done that.

This is the renovation of your life; stay encouraged for the best is yet to come.

Have a great day ladies!

Spoil Me Wednesday: Peace & Quiet With a Good Book

Anytime that I could sit back, take a deep breath and quietly enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with a book...I'm a happy camper.  There are times when you just have to allow your mind to relax, and escape the nosie that exists outside of your doors.  Today I'm spoiling myself simply by indulging in the fact that I don't have anything to do, and on that note I plan to enjoy a full lazy day.  Currently I am reading East of Eden, a novel by John Steinbeck, and I'm looking forward to getting a few chapters ahead before my little one gets home from school.

Ladies, I hope that you are trying to find some pamper time for yourselves even if it's an hour to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Have a great one!

Showcase Your Talents Through a Portfolio

Ladies there is so much to be said about your aptitude, so why not let your knowledge, skills, abilities and experience speak for itself. It’s a given that when looking into perspective career opportunities you should have a resume, but why stop there?  Although a resume has always been utilized as a preliminary tool, or an introduction of your work history; the fact still remains that the job market has become more saturated and competitive.  If you only had ten minutes to seal the deal on the employment opportunity of your dreams, would you close in on the prize by taking a more creative stance?

In my world it’s all about the visuals.  Keeping record of special work projects, spreadsheets, coordination, creative ideas, etc., is a great way to showcase your talents and exhibit determination.  It is also a great attribute to the “staying organized” process.  Personally, I have worked on and created several documents that I really never thought twice about until I started looking at the certain skill sets required in our job market today.

My portfolio project consists of:
-         1” flexible binder (flat and portable)
-         Sheet protectors
-         A copy of my resume
-         Documents that display some of the projects I created/worked on

Good Luck! Hope you all have an awesome day!

The "A" Word...

Adulthood, the word slowly comes out my mouth with pause because there is so much scrutiny that comes along with it.  Though I’m sure I don’t only speak for myself when I say I would love to bask in the glory of childhood once more, the reality is in life you have no other choice but to grow up, and the sooner you accept this realization the better.  As the years come and go, just to name a few, it is distinct when we obtain education, get  involved in relationships, gain experience, grow in knowledge, but when do we actually shape our lives?  At what point do we apply everything we’ve taken in and everything we’ve learned and mold the person that looks back at us from the mirror?

When I stop and think about the past, I admit that some of the things that I wanted at nineteen, twenty are not even a thought in my life today.  Now my yearning is sharper, thoughts are clearer and determination is finely tuned to coincide with the path of life that I’ve chosen to walk.  Tomorrow when I look back on today, I want to know that I welcomed the  challenge of adulthood, and conquered.   Ladies stay motivated, and you shall triumph.

Have a great one!

The Calendar Buzzing of Spring Time

TGIF! And I say that in the most literal sense, cause it’s Friday and our inner voices are all probably screaming, counting down to the punch out times of the work day.  Ladies, the weekend has finally reverted back in to our presence, and what better way to welcome it than to greet the days with open arms.  Though for most of us the weather is still working up to where we need to be, the ever friendly existence of the Spring air has societal calendars buzzing everywhere—plans are being made, and people are stepping out on the scene.   So it’s official ladies, start making plans to enjoy a wonderful spring season, filled with daytime color and glitter of night time lights.  If you’ve never taken time to step into your city, find out what treasures have been sprouting in your own neighborhoods.  Catch up with girlfriends, link up with family and friends, reinstate date night with your other half, but most of all enjoy this time with you.  Jump full into spring, and enjoy the run before a relaxed transition into summer.

Enjoy your weekend!
